  • Amanda The Panda
    Their Mission is to provide innovative grief support that promote hope and healing to individuals, children and families. No matter who dies, many other lives are touched…an infant, a child, a teenager, a parent, a senior citizen…and there will be grief. Nearly 20 percent of adults have experienced the death of a child, and 22 percent have faced the death of a sibling, relative or close friend before they graduated from high school. Less than half (46%) of the population is aware that a support organization exists to help them through their grief. We help ease the hurt and restore children and families back into the mainstream of their lives – supported, validated, encouraged and empowered to go on. What They Do: Since 1980, they have delivered love and caring through innovative services such as weekend grief camps, support groups, fun days, school visits and holiday support to inspire hope and healing after the death of a loved one.
  • American Cancer Society
    During the month of October, Renewal by Andersen Des Moines participated in the American Cancer Society's United Against Cancer Campaign alongside other Renewal by Andersen's across the country. Renewal by Andersen Des Moines raised over $10,000 to be donated to the American Cancer Society! Congratulations team on being difference makers!
  • Eddie Davis Community Center
    Renewal by Andersen Des Moines went into the local Eddie Davis Community Center to look at one damaged window earlier this year hoping to be able to replace it. Little did the director, Vicky, know is that we were going to replace more than just the one no cost to her! The Eddie Davis Community Center provides efficient service, access and adequate space for the effective delivery of human, social, education, recreation, legal and community based services to families and individuals in need. RbA was proud to partner with Vicky at the Eddie Davis Center and be featured on the Hello Home segment on our local WHO13 television station.
  • Food Delivery to Essential Workers
    During COVID-19, we delivered boxed lunches to over 120 essential workers to show our appreciation. Employees at Iowa Lutheran Hospital, John Stoddard Cancer Center and On With Life were nominated by the pulic to recieve lunch on us. Boxed lunches were prepared by G-Migs in Valley Junction.
  • Food Drive
    In December 2020, we participated in the Holiday Food Drive. We were overwhelmed by the generous donations of non-perishable food items from our employees and customers. All of the food donations went back to the Des Moines Area Religious Council (DMARC). Once a month, they provide a free, three-day supply of nutritionally-balanced food to those in need. Last year, DMARC assisted more than 55,000 individuals in Greater Des Moines, with 35% of those assisted being children and youth age 17 or younger. We value giving back to our community because it reminds us to stay humble and kind. ❤️
  • Meals from the Heartland
    On July 14th, the Renewal by Andersen of Des Moines team had the opportunity to pack meals at Meals from the Heartland. The organization donates packaged food to malnourished children in their own backyard and around the world. Meals from the Heartland originated from a month-long packaging event in 2007 in West Des Moines, Iowa, where more than 1 million meals were packaged. After this positive experience, a few volunteers asked the golden question of, “What if…we gathered thousands and were able to feed millions?” The numbers continued to climb every year, and the world is a better place because of the commitment of caring volunteers. Meghan Middleton, Marketing Manager at RbA Des Moines, said they picked Meals from the Heartland because being able to help hungry, malnourished kids in the community and across the world is incredibly impactful. It was an opportunity for hope and giving our hands to the children. Children should never go hungry and by doing this volunteer work, one could be giving a better life for a hungry child.   • Coat Drive
    We hosted a 10 day coat drive in January 2021. We delivered 71 coats, 14 pairs of gloves, a few hats and a few scarves to West Des Moines Human Services today. The coats were provided to low income families in WDM, Clive and Windsor Heights.
  • CHARGE Syndrome Donation
    We are delighted to have made an impact on a family that means a lot to our small, family-owned company. Many of you may recognize Jerry- one of our experienced sales representatives of 6 years. This past weekend, his family spent time at the CHARGE Syndrome Conference with families across the world that all have one thing in common - a child with CHARGE Syndrome. CHARGE Syndrome is an extremely complex syndrome, involving extensive medical and physical difficulties that differ from child to child. For the last few years, they have attended this conference. It has been an empowering weekend for them to meet and network with others facing the same challenges, learn from professionals (medical, clinical and educational), and leave better informed about how to help their child. This year, a contribution from us allowed for their daughters teacher to attend also. We recognize that this teacher spends a lot of time, learning how to understand their daughter in order to make a positive impact on her future development. We are grateful that our small gesture will be making a positive impact in their lives. Learn more today:
  • Disabled Veteran Door Donation
    Summer of 2018, Bev came into our showroom here in Valley Junction. She was looking for some advice on a problem she was having with her patio door. Patio door problems are something we deal with every day here at Renewal by Andersen, but this was no ordinary problem. Bev’s husband Duane is a veteran and was having an extremely difficult time getting his wheelchair in and out of their home. Bev explained to us she was just trying to get ideas at this point and that she was planning on applying for a VA grant of some sort to fund this project and that the applying process could take quite some time but she needed a quote to get started. We told Bev we would send someone out to take a look at the door and to quote her and Duane’s project. Our team went out and took a look at the door and could immediately see that this was a huge issue that was keeping them from being able to fully enjoy their home with ease and comfort. We knew the process of Bev and Duane having to apply for a grant would delay this project too long. After a very brief conversation among everyone here at Renewal, it was obvious what needed to be done. We called Bev and Duane and told them we would love the opportunity to install a custom entry door system for them at no charge. The install was completed yesterday and we were able to visit them this morning to make sure everything was what they were hoping for. Duane tried it out for the first time while we were there and couldn’t have been more thrilled with how easy and wonderful it was for him to get onto the deck! He even said “ta-da!” when he got outside and was able to take this great picture of the two of them? Thank you, Bev and Duane, for allowing us to come into your home and thank you for the reminder of what our company stands for. We feel so honored to be able to help you with this project. We hope you enjoy your new custom entry door system and we wish you many enjoyable warm summer nights on your deck for years to come!
  • Many Hands For Haiti
    For the month of May 2019, we chose Many Hands For Haiti (MH4H) as the non-profit organization that we would give back to. This local non-profit brings new hope to children, communities and families in rural Haiti. Our donation will help families living in extreme poverty to gain access to meals and medical support.
