Unprofessional, Patronizing, and a Complete Waste of Time I scheduled an appointment with Andersen Renewal for a straightforward quote on windows and doors. What I got instead from Charlene Bready was 82 minutes of my evening — and my husband’s — wasted, instead of spending our time with our three small children. When pointing out her 90 minutes was almost up and bedtime is approaching. We were told 82 minutes into the 60-90 minutes of scheduled time that the rep might need to come back to actually complete the job she was sent to do. The measurements, pictures, and information wasn’t enough to calculate a quote. More of our time wasted was the requirement. Let that sink in: 82 minutes. No quote. Not a single number with any real meaning. The representative had the audacity to tell me one window would cost “$150 a month” — financed — while refusing or unable to provide an actual total. A completely irrelevant figure without the context of a total to anyone with half a brain. Losing most of her credibility with the $150 per month statement, she then proceeded to explain financing to us as though we had never seen a contract before in our lives or purchased a home or a car, while standing in our home. I called for a quote. Not a sales seminar. Not a patronizing crash course in how financing works. When I calmly and directly pointed out that she had spent the better part of an hour and a half collecting measurements, information, and photos — and she still could not produce what she came to deliver — she didn’t apologize. She didn’t problem-solve. She informed me she was “done now” and ended the interaction. Apparently, accountability isn’t part of her process either. For context: I have owned three homes and have overseen extensive renovations over the years — full kitchen and bathroom guts and rebuilds, creating bathrooms from scratch, relocating laundry between floors, skim coating ceilings, and more. I am not a first-time homeowner asking naive questions. I know exactly what I’m doing, what I need, and what a professional looks like. This was not it. In all of my years dealing with contractors, reps, and trades, I have never encountered anyone so simultaneously incompetent, condescending, and disrespectful. She wasted our time, talked down to us, failed to deliver the one thing she was there to provide, and then had the nerve to act put out when I expressed my very reasonable frustration. This is a poor, embarrassing representation of what is advertised as a reputable company. I would not recommend Andersen Renewal to anyone — not because of the product since we didn’t get that far, but because if this is the standard they set for customer-facing staff, your time, your home, and your intelligence will not be respected & therefore does not deserve your business.
