We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to join our team and provide expert service, troubleshooting, and repair solutions for Renewal by Andersen windows and doors. This role is ideal for a technically skilled professional who enjoys problem-solving, working independently, and delivering outstanding customer experiences. Position Summary: The Field Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and resolving warranty-related concerns for homeowners while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship, safety, and customer service. This position requires strong technical knowledge of window and door systems, advanced troubleshooting ability, and the confidence to identify root causes and provide effective solutions. Warranty Technicians serve as trusted representatives of the company by building homeowner relationships, communicating clearly, and ensuring every service interaction reflects the quality and professionalism of Renewal by Andersen. Responsibilities: Diagnose and repair warranty-related issues involving windows, doors, hardware, trim, and related components. Troubleshoot product performance concerns, installation-related deficiencies, air leakage, water infiltration, and other service issues. Perform advanced repairs, including component replacement, adjustments, resets, and corrective service work. Evaluate service conditions and determine the appropriate repair solution while maintaining company standards. Provide exceptional customer service by setting expectations, explaining solutions, and resolving homeowner concerns professionally. Complete service appointments efficiently while maintaining quality craftsmanship. Document service activities, photographs, repair details, and outcomes accurately through electronic systems. Maintain company tools, equipment, vehicles, and inventory. Follow all safety requirements, PPE standards, and company policies. Collaborate with Installation, Operations, Customer Care, and other internal teams to improve homeowner experiences. Provide technical feedback and support to field teams when needed. Participate in ongoing training and continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. 4+ years of experience in window installation, door installation, carpentry, construction, remodeling, service, or a related trade preferred. Strong knowledge of residential window and door systems and installation practices. Experience diagnosing and resolving complex field issues. Ability to troubleshoot independently and determine effective solutions. Strong craftsmanship, attention to detail, and commitment to quality. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work directly with homeowners. Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, mobile applications, and electronic documentation systems. Ability to safely operate company vehicles and equipment. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds. Ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, rooftops, and elevated work areas. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform physical labor throughout the day. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions. Ability to travel throughout assigned service territories, including occasional overnight travel.
